DAYCARE FAQ'S

Your first step is to send an e-mail to the office at thestudiodanceandwellness@gmail.com to get your child onto our waitlist. If a spot in the program becomes available we will contact you by email.
If you are an existing client from dance, you can simply log into your portal, add your daycare child as a "student" and then search for the Little Movers' Daycare Program.
If you are new to THE STUDIO you can follow the link to the registration page to create an account and fill out any necessary information. You will be asked to add a credit card on file and from there can search for the Little Movers' program.

Yes! This is the best way to ensure that kids are eating foods they enjoy and encourages parents to be thinking about how to fuel their kids in a healthy way. This also takes allergies and cultural food differences into consideration. There will be 2 scheduled snack breaks and a lunch break, but children are welcome and encouraged to snack as needed throughout the day.
There is a fridge and microwave on site to store and warm meals as necessary.
In line with the Interior Health guidelines, our program will meet and aims to exceed the minimum of 90 minutes per day of outdoor play. We know this is not always possible with varying weather conditions but understand the importance being outside and will plan many activities outdoors.
Payments for daycare will be processed on the 1st of each month with an automatic charge to the credit card on the account. All credit card payments are subject to a 2.4% surcharge processing fee. If a family is wanting to avoid this charge, arrangements can be made to pay via e-transfer, cash or in-person. If paying by e-transfer, cash or in-person, this must be done before the 1st of the month and is the responsibility of the card/account holder.
Declined accounts will have a 7-day grace period to rectify their account before being charged a late fee. Declined cards may be suggest to additional charges passed on by the processing company.
Payment is due prior to care, example: care for the month of September is due September 1st.
Acknowledgment and agreement the Payment Policies document is required before registering for any programming. Please read this document in it's entirety before enrolling in care.
Our program will be closed for 6 weeks total throughout the year (families are not charged for care during closed dates or statutory holidays):
- 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years
- 2 weeks in March for Spring Break
- 2 weeks in August for Summer Break
Any families choosing to depart on holidays outside of these scheduled closed dates will continue to be charged but we can offer a 50% discount in order to maintain their spot in the program. This discount will only apply to 1 vacation per year.
We require 1 month's written notice to withdraw a child from the program and a $75.00 cancellation fee will be charged the account. Children can still attend the program until their last paid day. Children aging out of the program for Kindergarten will not be charged the $75.00 drop fee.
The severity of an allergy(ies) are dependent upon the individual children enrolled in the program. Rest assured that we take all allergies seriously and will take any and all precautions necessary to ensure the child's safety. Please be sure to inform us of any and all allergies in your child's intake form and please speak directly to the care provider on your first day. Staff are required to have up-to-date First Aid certification.
*Please note that THE STUDIO cannot be a fully peanut-free facility as we share the space with the dance program.
If a child is sick and exhibiting contagious symptoms, their parents will be contacted and someone will need to pick up the child. Once the child is symptom free for 48 hours they will be welcomed back to care. No refunds or credits can be provided for sick children.
If a care provider is sick we will do everything in our power to find a suitable substitute to care for the children in the program. If care needs to be cancelled due to a sick provider, a credit will be added to any effected family's accounts.
The intake form is separate from the registration information as there is extra information needed for daycare than needed for dance classes. The intake form has detailed information that our care provider needs to have on hand during care including medications, allergies and more. The form is extensive but required to ensure your child is kept safe and to have the best experience possible in daycare.
